Ben Shaver, Director of Music

Ben Shaver joined the Geneva family in 2015 as the Director of Music. He directs the Geneva Sanctuary Choir as well as the Handbell Choir. He holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, formerly known as Peabody Conservatory. He has travelled throughout Europe and America performing opera and musical theater. In the summer months, he often teaches English as a second language in Italy. During the week, Ben also works at St. Timothy’s School for Girls, an international boarding school that teaches the International Baccalaureate program. 

Ben has an adorable shichon, Melody (who came named, but appropriately so), and loves spending as much time with her as he can. He loves languages and cultures, as well as trying different foods. He is passionate about teaching and loves seeing the growth of musicians, actors, students, and friends alike. Ben is delighted to be a part of the Geneva team and says the church is a place for constant comfort, love, support, and spiritual growth.
