Going Green

“The earth declares the beauty of the Lord.”

Psalm 24

Geneva Presbyterian Church and Geneva Day School continuously work together to achieve our mutual environmental goals, including reducing our carbon foot print and improving the natural habitat of our grounds.  Geneva Presbyterian Church is a PCUSA Earth Care Congregation (http://www.presbyterianmission.org/ministries/environment/earthcare-congregations/).  The goals and standards for this program align with those set forth by MAEOE (Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education).  We are committed to using energy efficiently and conserving resources and to managing, maintaining and upgrading our facilities and grounds in a manner that respects and cherishes all living things, both human and non-human.

One of our Elders, Rosie Perthel, who has BS and MS degrees in Natural Science/Forestry, provides technical support and direction for many of our joint environmental programs and projects.
